Weekly Blog Post 10

I'll admit that I only picked this one because it's trivariate, and I like how it pulls it off.  Choropleth base, and colors for the proportional symbols.

  1. This map is a bit disingenuous b/c it doesn't account for population; it'd be better to have deaths by state normalized by population (death/capita) or even at the county level (if that data exists). Sorry, I saw this image looking for coal pp density and felt the need to comment.

    1. That is correct!

      When I found this map the first thing I noticed is that the states with the most coal-related deaths seem to be the ones where the most coal is mined.
